Welcome Reception Starts Congress with a Blast

For the first time ever, this year’s Annual Congress will feature a reception to welcome attendees to Seattle and provide an informal networking session. The Welcome Reception will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Museum of Popular Culture (MoPOP), 325 Fifth Avenue North.

Guest will enjoy mesmerizing exhibits, interactive installations, and oral histories that bring the history of popular culture to life. The Museum of Pop Culture is appropriately housed in a spectacular modern structure designed by Frank Gehry and pays homage to the rock music, video games, sports, and film that grew out of Seattle and beyond.

Hosted food stations and cash bars will be available throughout the facilities. To get to the reception and gain access, follow these instructions, which are also posted in the Sheraton Lobby and Convention Center Registration area:

Proceed to the monorail station located at Fifth Avenue and Pine Street—the Westlake Center Mall Station. You may also walk to MoPOP. It is required to wear your Congress attendee registration badge; your badge will gain you access to the monorail, entrance into MoPOP, and your return monorail trip. The monorail is a two-minute transfer time.
