Opening Ceremonies Honor History of Annual Congress

The Opening Ceremonies, Sunday, Sept. 10, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the ballroom 6ABC, will pay homage to the rich traditions of past AANA yearly gatherings while laying the groundwork for a successful Annual Congress.

The event will begin with the traditional procession of state presidents, AANA Foundation Friends for Life, award recipients, past presidents, the Board of Directors, and AANA President Cheryl Nimmo, DNP, MSHSA, CRNA. An important part of the Opening Ceremonies is honoring individuals who have advanced the profession. Nimmo will present awards to the distinguished recipients of the Program Director of the Year, Didactic Instructor of the Year, and the Clinical Instructor of the Year.

The AANA Foundation will also be on hand to recognize important CRNAs who have contributed to the scholastic understanding of anesthesia. The foundation will present awards to the John F. Garde Researcher of the Year and the Rita L. LeBlanc Philanthropist of the Year as well as introducing the newest Friends for Life.
